The agenda is still to be finalised, but will likely contain:
Progress against Strategic Plan, review and update
Autumn competition planning
Other WA aviation events
Judge training
State competition planning
Alternative training airfield
Fundraising raffle
Acquisition of equipment for comps
Sponsorship targets
Team for 2016 Nationals
Succession planning
Sequences and categories for 2016
Partners, friends and associates are welcome to attend however may be exposed to excessive aviation talk!
If you would like to attend, it was assist us greatly if you can RSVP – that way we can book a table big enough for all of us. Food and drink will likely be pay as you go.
Busselton Aerofest – March 6th The Busselton Airshow is on again this year, and it’d be great for our members to either put on a aerial show or to set up an information tent there again. Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to make it (will be coming back from NZ and likely broke!) but hopefully someone else can pick up and run with it. We’ll add it to the AGM…
Autumn Competition – April 30th Pencil in the last weekend of (April 30th – May 1st) for a weekend competition at Cunderdin. Further details will be nutted out at the AGM, but my initial thoughts are that we have 3 flights for each category from Sportsman (Known, Free and Unknown) and 2 flights for Entry/Graduate.
Christen Eagle Share for Sale There is still a share in the Christen Eagle for sale. It’s a great 2 seat aerobatics plane that is in many ways better and easier to fly than a 2 seat Pitts. It’s got over 1000 hours left on the engine, a good syndicate setup and pricing structure, and can take you all the way to Advanced…plus you can take someone else up to enjoy the ride! I’m not selling my share but I’m guessing Bowe will be interested in offers around $25k – $30k.
Help wanted We are doing everything we can to make the administration and scoring of our competitions easier but having a non-flying administrator/scorer to help would be greatly appreciated. We are willing to train anyone who is interested, and they will be offered a per-diem cash payment in return for their services at competitions. If you, or any of your family members or friends might be interested please me a message at admin@wacaac.org.
Donations/Sponsors The club would appreciate any help with money donations and/or getting hold of some equipment to help run our competitions and training days. On the wish list are:
VHF Radio base stations and power supply
Laptops
Hand-held radios (UHF)
Caravan 🙂
Arrangements can be made for receipts or display of logos if you wish to donate through a business – give me a call and we’ll see what we can do!
Safe flying and see you all soon!
